As a therapist, the notion of emotional wellness is one that never strays too far from the forefront of my mind; hardly a day goes by when I’m not addressing the subject with my clients or people in my personal life. Emotional wellness is something most people seek, but only some find. Without thinking much about it, most of us naturally link emotional wellness to happiness—and we all know how challenging it can be to achieve real, enduring happiness. When I recently came across an article from Dr. Shannon Kolakowski—a psychologist, author, and relationship expert—about the 7 Signs of Emotional Wellness, I was pleased to find that she not only summarizes several qualities of emotionally well people, she also provides examples of small changes we can all make in our lives to achieve greater wellbeing and more happiness. In her article, Dr. Kolakowski touches on things like demonstrating gratitude, being flexible in our relationships with others, and seeking new experiences—things I often prescribe to my clients. You can check out the article below, and share your thoughts in our comments section about what new ways you’ve become inspired to seek emotional wellness for yourself.
